Week Commencing 6th August.

There is some rain forecast for the week; in fact, Thursday is the only day of the week that is forecast to remain dry. Having said that the amount of precipitation is virtually insignificant.  The tides continue to build till Wednesday morning.

Gordon Castle finished with close to forty for the week, a mixture of grilse but with a smattering of salmon. Beat 5 had a 17lb fish on Saturday. Thanks to Ian Tennant for the pictures.

Neil Boathwick fished my rod on a small beat below Craigellachie and had three fish for his morning, I wonder why I bothered travelling two hundred miles north to blank!

Grantown, Jimmy tells me,

Four salmon have been reported this week, three of which were landed by Andrew Davie. He was also blessed with a decent 7lbs sea-trout.

Aviemore and Abernethy Stuart Voce reports

Last week the rain arrived and the river rose slightly but again fell back. One grilse was caught together with eleven seatrout all at night. The worm fishing ban remains in force.
