Week Commencing 4th September 2017

The rain at the end of last week pushed the river up and depending where you were fishing it peaked sometime on Saturday and is dropping back nicely. There is some rain forecast at some point everyday next week, it will probably be heaviest on Monday, and with the tress using a lot less water I would expect another rise early in the week. I hope the rise does not affect the Arndilly Croquet Lawn. The tides have peaked and there will be no new water all week.

Catches, the river was pretty quiet last week and my report will reflect this.

Gordon Castle, Ian Tennant tells me they had around thirty-five fish last week. I believe the rise at the weekend brought in a few fresh fish.

Delfur again were quiet in Delfur terms finishing just in single figures.

John Braithwaite 20lb Delfur.

I know it does not look 20lb and I asked Mark and he said it certainly was and it was weighed, it just shows how deceptive photos can be.

The rest of the river was pretty quiet, I was pleased to get a picture from Kinchurdy with Dot Potter with a big male fish in its spawning colours.

Great report again Malcolm… Whilst not fishing at Arndilly do the rods sit on the lawn and knit? We play Croquet on lawns down here in the South… Predictive text…. Everyone’s Nemesis.

Yes predictive text but quickly corrected, obviously not quickly enough!
Possibly it was the hook conection that threw me!
