Well it was pretty much a week of two halves, the start of the week was warm and sunny the end of the week was bitterly cold. Ben Rinnes remains covered in snow. The change did nothing to improve the fishing. This coming week is to remain cold, temperatures with struggle to reach double figures. There will be some rain most days, with the end of the week being the heaviest.
The tides peak tomorrow and then there will be no new water till next week.
This year my Coal Tits have not occupied their nest box, they started work, but then they have stopped. The Blue Tits have occupied the other camera box but the image from this box is not as clear.
Catches as I mentioned above the sudden cold snap had a detrimental effect on the catches.
Ian Tennant tells me they had a couple. Alex Robertson was pleased with his fish from Beat 4.
As with many others, Orton had around four and a large sea trout.
Delfur had a quieter week with only four landed.
Rothes Henry Spence tells me they had four by Tuesday evening then nothing since.
Arndilly were the same, four, Matty Roberts had three of them the best pictured. Robin Williams had the other with his last cast of his three days.
Aberlour Angling Club also had four, John Spence pictured had two, Andrew Goodenough from Aberdeen had another and on Saturday, Jim Christie had one estimated to be 19lb.
Kinermony was fished by the Gordon Group and two were landed.
I hear Laggan had three.

I was pleased to hear from Jouni Rauha who was fishing at Castle Grant beats 1, and 3. Jouni told me, I have hosted a group of Finnish fly fishermen this week fishing at the Castle Grant beats 1 and 3. We caught and released 8 salmon between 9-14 pounds and one nice seatrout of about 7 pounds.

Danilo Assolari from Switzerland had a successful week on Beat 2. His first fish of the week was caught at The Manse Pool, 8lb covered with long tailed sea lice.
His second fish at Number One burn 10lbs.
Here is Danilo pictured with his third of 13lbs, He was lucky enough to land three this week but also had contact with a few others.
This fish was caught at Number One Burn by Herbert Woehlke from germany and was 17lb.
And un update from Kinchurdy,Craig opened the week with a 14lb salmon from the Kinchurdy Pool Jerry Gilfillan had his first fly caught salmon pf 10lb.
Abernethy were seeing both salmon and seatrout but Stuart Voce was the only one to land a fresh, sea liced, 8lb fish.
