Well TGIF, no not thank God it’s Friday but rather thank God it’s finished at last the 2012 season has come to an end. I do not have the figures for the river but I would imagine most beats are down on their five year average. All we can do now is hope that the fish in the river spawn well and that next season is better. There will be an update when I get some figures.
Catches. The rain at the start of the week pushed the river up on Wednesday and Thursday restricting fishing effort, although there were some fish caught. The Gordon Castle Beats continued as they have done all season and finished with around fifty fish. Delfur had around twenty Grant Morrison sent me a few photographs to finish off the season, it is nice to see sealiced fish at this time of the year.
And finally for this season Mark sent me the Chocolate Cocker family picture!
Grantown had sixteen fish reported till Friday evening and I would imagine there would still be a few caught on Saturday, the best was a twenty pound fish taken on a spinner from the Lurg Pool in high water on Wednesday. I think the season’s total will be around the three hundred mark, a little down on the average.
