It was a better week than last week; at least everyone managed six days fishing. The catches improved but were not startling. Weather wise it was pleasant in the sun but the wind was still cold and Ben Rinnes had a white covering at the weekend. Temperatures remain in single figures for the forth coming week with rain at the start of the week and again towards the weekend, Wednesday and Saturday promise the best weather at this time. The Tides have peaked and there will be no new water this coming week.
Catches: The Gordon Castle Beats managed thirteen. Upstream Delfur were into the mid teens including these pictured below, I wish all beats would send me quality shots like these Mark sent me.
Rothes had seven the best a twenty-three pound fish from the Long Pool. Craigellachie also managed seven but had a twenty- five pound fish on Wednesday. Aberlour Angling Association had eleven the last I heard. Kinermony had three by mid week including another fish into the twenties. Over the water Wester Elchies could only manage one. Charlie Herd’s party had a productive week with at least nine. Alan William’s party at Carron could only manage five, the downside of having the use of a luxurious hut!
At Knockando any fish encountered seem to escape before they could be landed, Peter Hosker about to lose one in the Long Pool.
Grantown had a better week landing seven the best a twelve pounder from the Long Pool on a fly.
