Week Commencing 19th May 2014.

Well writing positive reports is getting more and more difficult, unless some fish turn up soon I might have to consider giving up. The forecast for the coming week is really good, rain at the start and end of the week with the middle being overcast! The tides are building; surely this must be the week that the run arrives! There is a new moon on Monday; surely some of these omens must encourage the fish to run!

Catches: I believe there were some, but they are not what they should be. The Gordon Castle beats had half a dozen. Delfur about the same. Rothes had a quiet week but Saturday there was a flurry of activity with one landed and a couple lost. The Gordon group had their usual week at Upper Arndilly , Edward Douglas had the fish of the week, estimated at 25lb, sealiced from the Lower Dips. Craigellachie landed four. Wester Elchies three. Carron had a couple. I hear Knockando home beat had at least four. Grantown had a few more anglers out and managed four although they might have had a few more but “my source” has been away.

Somewhat disappointing! I only received a couple of photographs

Just a quick update congratulations to Hamilton, getting promotion to the Scottish Premiership, I hope Mr Terry Butcher now regrets deserting Inverness Caledonian Thistle!

I was down in the Aberlour beat yesterday and there where a lot of fish running through , the river was very peaty and i did not make contact with any fish , there was a party of six anglers on the other side lower wester elchies and they had been seeing fish most of the day. think they lost one earlier so the fish are there .

Just a quick update from Grantown Association. Six more fish were declared for the second-half of the week taking us into double figures for the whole week.
Our total included seven fish above 10 lbs. Two of these weighed-in at 15 lbs. It’s looking good!
