Week Commencing 17th August.
Well last week’s weather forecast was particularly inaccurate, there was very little rain. I’m not sure if it was rain or due to the preparation work for the duelling of the A 9 but the Dulnain came in very coloured which sent a slug of coloured water down the river, it lasted just over twelve hours so depending on what time it arrived affected how much fishing was lost. The middle Spey beats seemed worse affected. Again there is rain forecast for next week, the heaviest on Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday morning, we will have to wait and see. The tides have peaked and there will be no new water till the weekend.
Catches.
It has been hard going from what I can gather.
I only have a couple of pictures of young men with their first fish.
Henry Spence’s party fished Carron and Laggan and managed three grilse and a seatrout.
So is next year cheaper than this disastrous year?
Yes I’m sure the estates that had no income for over two months will be giving away their fishing next year, what do you think?
