Week Commencing 16th June 2014
Still difficult on Speyside, but to be fair it is not easy anywhere in Scotland. The weather was somewhat warmer and brighter not making fishing easily. The forecast for the coming week is for todays light rain or drizzle to continue for most of the week except for Tuesday, which is supposed to be bright and sunny. The tides are building all week. I do not think that the small amount of rain forecast will make any difference to the water height.
Catches. Again few and far between. Alex Robertson standing in for Ian Tenant tells me they were seeing the odd fish and there were some caught, I am not convinced that Fish Spey’s catches are accurate for Gordon Castle this week as they are only showing one fish and even I have heard of three and have photographs of two of them!
Delfur as usual Mark is generous enough to send me more photos. He tells me that they were seeing more fish on Friday and Saturday and they felt there were definately more fish about.
Rothes Mike tells me they finished the week with five.
Mike Broadey was at Craigellachie and sent me these photographs; I feel the long evenings fishing have started to affect his memory he told me they finished with eight from a beat total of five. This week perhaps numbers are not important!
Sam tells me they finished with four two salmon and two grilse. Carron had about the same. Not surprisingly Grantown is quiet again, but I am sure things will pick up given a rise of water.
