Looking at the coming week’s forecast it is a bit more hopefull. There is rain forecast Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning and some heavier rain Thursday and Friday. We will just have to wait and see. The tides are building all week.
Nature notes. I think the swifts have left now, I haven’t seen any for about a week now, but it is difficult to be certain. Whilst out walking the dogs by the river this morning I met a twitcher who said he was looking for a rare diver that he had heard would be on the Spey today.
Ian Tenant tells me they had fifty for the week, Graham Ritchie stayed on Saturday evening till he caught it!
Delfur were again into double figures.
Wester Elchies continue to pick away.
I hear Kinermony had a couple.
Carron though lightly fished still managed five and a sea trout.
Grantown, my regular correspondent is on holiday but I understand they had a couple of salmon and a handful of seatrout.
Aviemore and Abernethy, Stuart Voce tells me
The weather has improved with some more rain. The river rose slightly by 3inches and stayed there for the week.
One salmon reported at 8lb on a flying ‘C’. Despite one fisher forgetting his wading boots used his trainers to do the business and had two nice seatrout for his efforts!
The suspension of worm fishing is still in place and notices are displayed on the pools until further notice, please be aware
Kinchurdy I received this picture of 14 year old Sam Thomson with an 11lb sea trout.
