Week Commencing 11th March 2015.
Some of you might notice that the date above is a Wednesday rather than the usual Monday, Monday and Tuesday of last week were a washout. Wednesday was not much better but some of those who made the effort were rewarded with some fish. The river carried a little colour all week. The forecast for the coming week is temperatures in the mid single figures with a little bit of sunshine on Monday then clouding over for the rest of the week with some rain towards the weekend. The tides are building all week. I expect the river will slowly drop all week with a little fluctuation with the cold nights holding back some run off.
Catches: Mrs Anne Cameron got her Spey Season underway on the 11th March this year rather than her last year’s effort on the 11th February. David Tisdale caught the best fish of Delfur’s season with this 14lber from Broom.
Upstream at Rothes the Gordon Group continued to catch a few fish, Bill Goodlad had one from Creekie on Wednesday, Mike Glass hooked this on in Creekie and landed it Bluestone and Graham Ritchie had a small fish from Burnmouth on Saturday.
I understand Arndilly had another two. Craigellachie had a fish from the Boat Pool on Friday and I am grateful to Bryan Herbert for his photograph.
I believe that Aberlour have had a least another couple of fish and Kinermony also had another. I am pleased to say, as predicted, the Grantown’s season got underway when local angler Bobby Hall had a 7lb fish from the Long Pool.

Thanks for your good work and the photos. After one month of fishing can you compare with last year similar period ?
Best Regards
Olivier
Olivier, hard to be precise as I get so little information. Delfur and Rothes were slightly up at the end of last week but missing a couple of days due to high water has probably pegged them back a bit. Gut feeling pretty much the same as last year!
