Spey Final Response to the Wild Fisheries Reform Bill Consultation
Dr Aileen McLeod, Minister for Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform announced a consultation on draft provisions for a Wild Fisheries (Scotland) Bill and a draft Wild Fisheries Strategy on the 8th February 2016.
The Spey Board and the Spey Foundation carefully considered a joint response to this and consulted widely upon it. This included presenting it to a Public Meeting in Aberlour on the 19th April, before submitting it to the Government in time for its deadline for responses of 2nd May 2016.
The consultation document can be viewed and downloaded here and a copy of the Spey response is available to read here.
I think congratulations are in order for what is a comprehensive and sensible response to the draft proposals.
